Its odd to think that a movie of all things could completely change our way of thinking or at least make us question things we take for granted. Every once and awhile a movie becomes something more than just entertainment. In 1975, a novel by Peter Benchley was released onto an unsuspecting public. Two years later, it was released in theaters. The fact that a movie can alter, or lets say, makes us aware of something that was always right in front of us, is remarkable. Beachgoers everywhere suddenly thought twice about entering the water. There is nothing in this world I can think of that may be more terrifying than the thought of being eaten alive. And in a stroke of genius by Steven Speilberg, the movie used an illustrated image (the same used for the book) that tapped into our imaginations and had us asking a horrifing question; what lurks below the dark surface of the water?
