This year's Olympics have reminded me of something I may not even realized I had in the first place. The last time I felt this way was in 1992 when I saw Michael Jordan and "The Dream Team" absolutely dominate the opposing teams. That team (the greatest team ever assembled in the history of basketball) made me for the first time in my life, feel proud to be an American. And I was 11 years old. Of course I have felt that way since. I can remember vividly my thoughts on 9/11. I was proud of our firefighters and soldiers. I was proud of every American that put there lives on hold to help those in need. But since 1992 I have not felt that way about the Olympics. There really was never an urge to watch them. We should all remember the amazing moments the Olympics have brought. Here are some amazing moments, and a few dark ones along with logos and art of the eras.

When the 2008 Olympics were decided to be held in China, protests were heard from all over. I myself wasn't sure whether I agreed with the decision or not. I felt that something bad might happen. Some act of terror might be-fall the athletes and/or spectators. I believed that this years Olympics would be the site of some unbelievable event; of a horrific event. My fear has to turned into utter astonishment as I watched Michael Phelps and other Americans achieve a number of great accomplishments. I also watched a man at my height( 6 feet 5 inches) run the 100 meter dash in 9.69 seconds, a world record. I am of course talking about Usian Bolt, who seemed to even let up at the end of his race. If that man had run that race all the way through until the end, he might have broken the 9.5 second mark. I bet I couldn't have even broken 15 seconds.
